Skimming the Classifieds Part II

Skimming the Classifieds Part II

Just wanted to post the rest of the vintage classified ads from the batch I had sitting on my desktop. This last group has 2 great race cars including Ike Iacono’s GMC straight 6 dragster now owned by Pat Ganahl and featered in TRJ #44 in bare metal.┬áSurprisingly, I also have the ad for the Dick Flint Roadster, most likely the original posting from 1960 when it was bought by Duane Kofoed who installed a SB Chevy, and drove it regularly on L.A. Roadster runs for the next decade. Dick’s asking price was $2500 at that time, which is roughly $20,000 in today’s money… Seems like a hell of a bargain to me. I think one of my underrated favorites in this set is the 283-powered ’27 Tall T coupe. You just don’t see very many traditional Phone Booth T hot rods these days, and thats a real shame. The stance, the wheels, the drivetrain and the dash are all so very right. So what would you nab from this set? Flint’s Roadster seems like a natural. Perhaps the A Roadster PU on deuce rails? Maybe a nice little convertible ’40 Ford or Mercury for cruising…
