Casual T

Casual T

A few years ago, I was hanging out with Corky Coker in Chattanooga, TN. He was giving me the business – taking me around all of the “Corky buildings” and showing off all of the hardware. Eventually, we stumbled into an old brick warehouse that had a couple of 32’s parked within. They belonged to Mike Goodman (Owner of Honest Charley’s Speed Shop) and he was quick to give me his own tour.

During the chat up, Mike said something that has stuck with me.

“I like casual hot rods. Cars that are built right with the right look, but that don’t amplify anxiety when you drive them, park them, enjoy them… I don’t need the complication of perfection.”

Mike put into words something that I’ve always tried to, but never could so eloquently. Ever since that conversation, I’ve been stealing his line.

“I like casual hot rods.”

And so here I am… Introducing a casual hot rod that was featured in the February, 1960 issue of Hot Rod Magazine. It’s a ‘T’ body sitting on ‘A’ rails and powered by a little Ford Flathead.  There is nothing fancy or overwhelming here – just a simple hot rod.
