The Hot Rod Revolution

Last year, the Tardels and the Cochrans decided to throw a car show. Neither family had ever thrown one before and it was obvious at times, but that didn’t stop folks from showing up in some pretty incredible cars. Something special happened that day… The clouds lined up straight with the sun and the right folks with the right cars all found the time to make the trek to Penngrove, CA for our little show. By noon, Keith and I were giving each other looks.

“Holy shit… we might have 120 cars here, but I’d drive every last one of them.”

I don’t know that I have ever seen anything like it. The quality of the cars in attendance was simply off the hook. Whether by luck or skill, the 2006 Hot Rod Revolution turned out to be a huge success.

And now, one year later, the Tardels and the Cochrans are getting ready to do it again. Same place, same time… September 22. And judging by some of the chatter, this year will feature the same level of pre-48 hot rod – traditional and perfect.
